Applied Behavioral Interventions /ABA/ provides diagnostic evaluations and intensive behavioral health services for individuals with developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders. For over 14 years SSTARS has met the ongoing needs of families who have received early intervention and pre-school services . Serving upwards of 2000 children annually and recognized as an industry leader in the evaluation and treatment of autism spectrum disorders, SSTARS launched ABA to provide families and their children with additional support and treatment options.

ABOUT US

As an outpatient community clinic, SSTARS serves infants, children, and adolescents with developmental, emotional and neurological diagnoses. Our clinical team focuses on the client’s strengths and individual differences while developing an intervention plan that addresses his or her unique profile. Our clinical team fosters a relationship not only with the client, but educates, empowers and supports the entire family unit.

PROFESSIONAL TEAM
ABI’s therapists are highly skilled and compassionate professionals who deliver a wide range of professional and therapeutic services. These include Speech and Language Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Social Skills Training, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA’s) and Social Work / Psychological services. ABI’s team consists of multi-lingual professionals who serve families from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

ABA TEACHERS
Overseen by a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with more than 15 years of experience treating children with autism spectrum disorders and their families, our ABA teachers come from top graduate school programs in behavior analysis and other related health and education fields of service.

TRAINING AND SUPERVISION
To ensure treatment integrity, all of our team members, go through a rigorous training and supervision program that is both experiential and didactic. Training and supervision protocols include active demonstrations, structured observations, in-service trainings, professional development opportunities and intensive one-to-one supervisory feedback. ABI recognizes that teaching is a science rather than an art and your child needs effective and efficient teachers/professionals to optimize available learning time. ABI continually focuses on implementing cutting-edge research-based teaching procedures.

PARTNERS WITH FAMILIES
The research shows that treatment outcomes are enhanced when families are actively involved. ABI has a strong commitment to providing services utilizing a family-centered treatment approach. To that end, many of the services are provided in the child’s home, community setting, or other natural environments. ABI also provides parents/caregivers with comprehensive education, training and support. Drawing from our team of multilingual/multicultural providers, ABI assigns same language/culture teams to families so that treatment occurs within a family context and we can more easily plan and achieve family centered treatment goals.

PRIVATE CONSULTATION AND SERVICES
ABI clinicians are not only expert in treating children on the autistic spectrum but also have a wide range of experience working with and treating individuals with a variety of developmental delays and behavioral challenges. Families can choose to receive additional services to optimize their child’s functioning in particular areas of concern. This private consultation model is highly customizable to the individual needs of the family and child.

SSTARS provides a multitude of services for families coping with Autism. From in-home visits that provide one-one one training, to parent resources, assisting device, and support groups, we can custom tailor a plan that will help the clients and their families on the path to empowerment.

Our knowledgeable staff members are trained to help families in identifying the best strategies for the individuals’ overall treatment. Implantation, Intervention, Data Collection, and Evaluation are the key concerns of our services.
